Accessibility Statement

Last Updated: October 13, 2026

Our commitment

Shinastra is built to connect people with the right work, and that has to include people who are blind or have low vision, people who are deaf or hard of hearing, people who have limited mobility or use only a keyboard, people with cognitive or learning differences, and anyone who uses assistive technology. We want every job seeker and every employer to be able to use the whole Platform.

The standard we aim for

We aim for our website and web app to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These are the widely used international guidelines for accessible web content.

Where we are today. We have reviewed our pages with automated accessibility testing tools and manual checks, and we have fixed the problems they found. We have not yet had an independent accessibility audit, and we have not yet tested every page with every screen reader and browser combination. We do not claim that the Platform fully conforms to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and some parts of it may still have barriers. We are continuing to find and fix them.

What we have done

  • Keyboard use. Pages can be used with a keyboard. A "Skip to main content" link appears when you press Tab on any page, and a visible outline shows where you are.
  • Screen readers. Pages have clear titles, headings and landmarks (header, navigation, main content). Form fields have labels, buttons and icons that carry no text have spoken names, and settings switches say whether they are on or off.
  • Messages you can hear. Errors and status messages (for example "Saved" or a wrong password) are announced to screen readers when they appear. A new listing in the swipe view is announced too.
  • Pop-up windows. When a window opens, keyboard focus moves into it and stays there, Escape closes it, and focus returns to where you were.
  • Readable colors. Text colors are chosen to meet the WCAG contrast ratio of 4.5 to 1 against the background.
  • Less motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, we turn off the splash animation and other movement.
  • Zoom and small screens. Pages are designed to work on phones and to remain usable when you enlarge text.

Known limitations

  • Content from other users. Resumes, photos, intro videos and written answers are uploaded by Seekers and Employers. We do not control whether those files are accessible. For example, an intro video may not have captions and a PDF resume may not be readable by a screen reader. If you need a caption, transcript or another format for something a user has shared with you, contact us and we will help.
  • Services run by others. Payment pages are provided by Stripe and the bot check on sign-up is provided by Cloudflare. They have their own accessibility features, and we do not control them. If you cannot complete a step, contact us and we will help you finish it another way.
  • Work still in progress. We are still reviewing the less-visited parts of the Platform and testing with more assistive technology. We do not yet offer a way for Seekers to add captions or a transcript to their intro video, and we plan to.

Browsers and assistive technology

The Platform is designed for current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge on desktop and mobile, and to work with common screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice control and keyboard-only use. Combinations we have not tested may not work as well.

Tell us about a problem

If something on Shinastra is hard or impossible for you to use, please tell us. Email accessibility@shinastra.com and include the page address, what you were trying to do, and the device, browser and assistive technology you were using if you know them. You do not have to explain your situation.

We read every message. We aim to reply within [5 business days], and where we can, to fix the problem or give you another way to do what you need, such as completing a task for you or sending information in a different format.

If you are not satisfied with our reply, tell us and we will have it reviewed again.

This statement is part of our commitment described in Section 17 of the Terms of Service. See also our Privacy Policy.
